Such a well written piece. The sad thing about San Francisco is how people seem to see homelessness as part of the city vibe. On a recent visit (one of very many) I spent time in a bar hearing non stop homeless jokes. The scenes on market and Hyde were unbelievable for a city of Twitter, Google and Uber. I was sad to leave and feel unhappy. I know of many tourists coming back who feel the same. In London we felt homelessness added a vibe and reality to the city until we realised it was simply unacceptable.
